The Home System Starter Guide

Overwhelmed by the million things you're holding in your head? You write the lists and somehow something still slips through. Been there too, my friend. Often it's not everything we have to do that wears us down. It's having to remember all of it, all the time. And when life gets chaotic, a few routines can make a real difference.

This is a simple starting point, not a full planner. Type out everything on your plate below, and it'll get organized for you. Then build routines for the parts of your day that need one most, so you can lighten the mental load. It all happens right here on your phone, and nothing is saved anywhere but your device.

1

Brain dump & sort

Add everything on your to-do list below: daily, weekly, as-needed, or one-time. The point is to get it out of your head. As you add each one, choose how often it comes up and whether it's a non-negotiable (has to get done) or flexible.

Type something before adding it.
Nothing added yet — start typing above.
2

Group & check

Here's everything, grouped by how often it comes up. Print it for the fridge, or keep it here and check things off as you go.

3

Create a routine

Not everything needs this — something like "feed the dog" is already two steps you can do in your sleep. This is for the tasks with enough moving parts that they're worth writing down once.

And this isn't forever. Think of it as a trial run: write the steps that work for you, run it for a few days, adjust what doesn't fit, and resave. Eventually you'll do it without looking. But it's still worth having printed for the days you're so tired you can't think straight, so nothing slips through the cracks and you're not left scrambling later.
Example
Routine
Evening Reset
Goal
Wake up to a kitchen and living room that don't add to tomorrow's load.
Time
7:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Steps
  • 7:30Dishes in the dishwasher, counters cleared
  • 7:45One pass through the living room — toys, blankets, stray cups
  • 7:50Tomorrow's non-negotiable laid out (clothes, bag, whatever it is)
  • 8:00Done — whatever's left waits until tomorrow
30 real minutes, no one else needed, and it's forgiving — if it runs to 8:10, nothing breaks.
